What does it mean to be a Flaming Feminist?
The late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG), a hero to many in the fight for equality, defined herself as a FLAMING FEMINIST.
To me, a flaming feminist will stand up for their own equal rights as well as the equal rights of other women and minorities, even in the face of adversity. They proudly declare their radical feminism to all and encourage others to stand up for equality. Their ideals are so strong, and they are so passionate about their beliefs, they can't help but spread the flames of feminism.

They called her this due to her radical feminism views and her mission for all individuals to obtain equal rights.
Our culture, bowing to the hierarchy, we conform to the World of "simple-minded, penis-driven creatures" that cannot be responsible for their thoughts or actions.
We implemented dress-codes, curfews, even legislation around controlling promiscuity of women. When violent crimes against women occur, the perpetrators are not shamed, the victims are.

Taking back SLUT
According to thedailybeast.com, the word SLUT has been around since the 14th century. It started out as describing a woman with untidy habits. A second definition describes a BOLD girl. Neither of these definitions have any sexual connection.
SLUT became "a woman who enjoys sex in a degree considered shameful and excessive" in 1966, shortly after women enforced their right to contraception. This became a popular movement to radical feminism and equal rights.

It has become my mission to take back the word SLUT as a word of empowerment for women, a way to acknowledge the trials and injustices we have faced in the past and look to the future for absolute equality and equal rights for all.
I, for one, embrace being an untidy, bold woman who is empowered by her sexuality.
